From classic to contemporary! Japanese-style hand sewing translates beautifully using machine quilting methods, opening up a world of possibilities for thread and fabrics. Give this technique a try and then find the many places you can put it to use from clothing to quilting, from wall hangings to crafts.

Requirements:
Sewing Machine, Bobbins, Manual, Walking Foot, Open toe is best for this project. Quilting or Embroidery needles (size 14). Size 50 Cotton or Poly Thread Navy, White, DMC Perle Cotton White (or color of your choice). ONE 7" Quilt Sandwich - top layer should be Navy or dark blue (100% cotton), batting cotton, bottom any color. ONE 14" Quilt sandwich (same colors as 7"), masking tape, white marking tool, Bic pencil, Ruler 6" x 12", quilters safety pins, small scissors, seam ripper, all of your usual sewing supplies.
