Kids Sewing Camp



Your children will learn:

  • Machine safety
  • Basic Machine maintenance
  • Changing of needles
  • Practice skills on paper
  • Variety of projects

If time permits we will complete all projects, it will all depend on the sewing of the students.

1 - REUSABLE FOOD BAGS
  •  Fat Quarter for exterior (may be able to make multiple bags out of this fabric depending on how big you make your bags)  (recommended fabric size 7” x 10” if you don’t want a fat quarter)
  •  Fat Quarter Nylon fabric or PUL fabric (waterproof/washable/wipe-able) (recommended fabric size 7” x 10” if you don’t want a fat quarter)
  • Zipper color to match, minimum 7”
  • Zipper foot
  • Coordinating thread

2 - POT HOLDER
  • 1/2″ meter of Fabric A
  • 2 pieces of Fabric B, at least 7″ x 7″ each
  • 2 pieces of Insulbrite insulated batting, at least 7″ x 7″ each
  • Trim (optional)
  • Coordinating thread
  • A “round something” that’s about 7″ wide to use as a template

3 - SANDWICH WRAPS
  • Fat Quarter Nylon fabric or PUL fabric (waterproof/washable/wipe-able) (recommended fabric size 7” x 10” if you don’t want a fat quarter)
  • Fat Quarters for however many bags you want to make
  • Velcro
  • Coordinating thread
  • Pin

4 - LAPPED ZIPPER IN PILLOW, 
  • A piece of fabric at least 4" taller than your cushion front and at least 2" wider than your cushion front
  • A zipper at least 2" wider than your cushion front
  • Zipper foot
  • Edgestitch foot (if you have one)
5 - HEMMING PANTS
  • Pants to hem, please bring a pair of pants that are too long
  • Chalk for marking
  • Coordinating thread

6 - JEANS 
  • Pants to hem, please bring a pair of pants that are too long
  • Chalk for marking
  • Coordinating thread
